Escape!

Maybe its a human condition to try to escape when trapped... We hear that, in the war, captured officers who were put into prisoner of war camps felt it was their duty to try to escape.

I suppose claustrophobia is a related condition that we all understand to one extent or another. To be locked in... oh you know what I mean.

But what happens if we're not aware that we are trapped. Then there is no fear, our perception has been tricked into thinking everything is ok and that we are free... until... until... the moment when it dawns on us that - and then the tendency is to need to try to remamber and apply the phrase from the 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' DON"T PANIC! (in my experience, usually in vain!)

On the other side of the coin, isn't it interesting how many superheroes there are today - they seem to be multiplying... proliferating... and it seems to be a sure route to film success to be the creator of a new superhero or superheroine, an individual who has extraordinary powers to break the hold of some tyrannical power.

Is it possible that all this points to a reality that is deep seated and significant? Is it possible that these fears, these intuitive responses, this longing for a superhero points towards that for which human beings long and need?

What super power would you want a rescuer to have if you were to suddenly realise you were trapped?

Is there an ultimate superhero for you?

“I believe human reality is relatively (to us) deep seated and significant, though I am not sure if this answers your question.”

Is it possible that these fears, these intuitive responses, this longing for a superhero points towards that for which human beings long and need?

“Humans’ like to be needed, though perhaps each to a different level. Superheroes’ are needed by many people, so others aspire to be like them. I think what sometimes happens is that appearance is confused with ability, perhaps I am wrong.”

What super power would you want a rescuer to have if you were to suddenly realise you were trapped?

“Being able to tune in to me telepathically would be useful, that is, if they had the ability to save me!”

Is there an ultimate superhero for you?

“I always enjoyed the cartoon series X-Men that has a variety of superheroes. There is one called Jean Grey who I always thought was interesting.”
